Sanin Kaigan Geopark, including Tottori Sand Dunes, extends through Tottori, Hyogo and Kyoto prefecture. The park is 110 kilometers long from east to west and 30 kilometers wide from north to south. The park
is known as "the museum of landscape and geology" because of its unique scientific features that show the process of geography over the last 40 million years. The variety of landscapes has the significant geographic value.
