All Japan Ecotourism Convention 2013
Following the All Japan Ecotourism Convention held in Ninohe, Iwate prefecture, in 2011, the convention will be held in the western Tottori below Mt. Daisen in 2013. The annual event has been held throughout Japan including Ogasawara Tokyo, Touyako Hokkaido, Okinawa and Nagano.
Daisen Nakaumi Ecotourism Conference (εRCGRc[Y¦cο) has been preparing for the upcoming convention. The preparation includes;
- developing the concept of the event
- creating a cooperative relationships with local communities
- finding possible undiscovered tourism locations
- finding and training nature guides
- developing tour courses and packages
- providing up-to-date information and domestic/international publicity.
The convention is not an end in itself. Although Mt. Daisen has great natural beauty, the local businesses and administrations have not succeeded to construct the comprehensive structure to accept local and overseas tourists. The aim of holding the convention is to create a foundation for the long-term and sustainable nature tourism around Mt. Daisen for local and overseas tourists.
