Jizodaki no Izumi (Jizodaki Water Spring) was chosen as one of the 100 best water of Heisei period (http://www2.env.go.jp/water/mizu-site/newmeisui/). About 0.2 million tons of spring water wells up for a day. The water remains at constant 11-degree temperature through a whole year. Summer is the best season to visit the spring. Locals come to the spring to cool off on a hot summer day. The spring water has been used not only for drinking and irrigation but also for sake (the rice-based Japanese traditional alcoholic beverage) and beer brewing. There is a local sake brewery Kumezakura near the spring, where you can purchase the local sake Yago.
Mt. Daisen has been worshiped as a god since long ago, and attracted a lot of worshipers. Daisenji (Daisen Temple) is said to become even more crowded on a festival day. Jizodaki no Izumi prospers as a key junction from Izumo and Yonago city. Worshipers used to drink a fresh water and rest their weary feet at the spring. The Buddhist stone statue standing by the spring, is called "jizo", and has been regarded as a guardian deity of the water and a safe journey.
There are factories of two major drinking water company Coca-Cola and Suntory in Mt. Daisen.
