Matsue Castle
Matsue Castle is one of the 12 remaining castles as in the original wooden form in Japan. The castle is nicknamed the "plover castle". The castle was built by Yoshiharu Horio, the founder of Matsue City, over a period of 5 years and completed in 1611.
The cherry blossoms fill the castle grounds during spring. A festival called "Suitou-ro"( H) is held during summer. The castle's surrounding water ways are fantastically illuminated with a lot of lanterns during the festival.
