Finding natural wonders to compete with Japanese cultural treasures
Surrounded by the beautiful landscape of mountain and the Japan Sea, national park Mt. Daisen is the great place to enjoy outdoor activities. Summer is the season for mountain hiking. In August 2010, approximately 20,000 people climbed the mountain. There are also some nature tours such as trekking and horse riding. At the Japan Sea, there are beautiful swimming beaches such as Kaike beach and Hakuto beach. Kaike is famous for being the location for having Japan's first triathlon. Many people come from all over Japan during summer to compete in this grueling contest. Winter is also the great season to enjoy skiing and snowshoeing in Mt. Daisen.
